Freya Bramble Carter

Freya is a London-born maker and ceramics artist who thrives in a working studio, a space she shares with her father, master potter Chris Bramble. Having learnt her craft from her father, Freya creates work inspired by the balance found in nature. Her connection to the clay as a meditative material results in pieces that create a feeling of zen in the home, radiating a peaceful energy in interior and exterior spaces.

Why Choose Us?

In our working studio we support our special needs assistant Michael, who is now a fully trained and highly experienced ceramicist. Freya's father and fellow potter Chris Bramble runs pottery tuition during the week daytimes. Freya likes to take care of students at the beginning their ceramic journey, and runs beginners' sessions during the evening and weekend.

Together their workshop feels like home. The essence of the practise runs through their daily lives. Working with clay is a lifestyle choice, and they want to share it with the tribe: that’s you!

Freya and the team specialise in stoneware clays that are locally sourced on the outskirts of London. For many of the pieces, the clays are mixed to achieve a unique texture and feel. Most of these mixes are slightly courser to the touch when making (great exfoliation for the hands) but more importantly gives the formations a strength and durability. The clay type also creates a beautifully authentic aesthetic of stone and purity to calm and soothe in everyday life.

Amazing and beautiful service, I can’t stop looking at the ceramics produced here. There is no skill and talent like it!

About Us

Freya Bramble-Carter

Store Owner

I moved into this business in a very naturally progressive way. I grew up with clay at my fingertips: Dad showed me how and before I knew it I had a fully-fledged skill under my belt that I could use confidently and competently at a young age. That’s when I started teaching in the studio to earn my pocket money. I always remember being in the studio as a child, along side my twin sister Yolande; we would help out as much as we could because it was very difficult for us back then.

So I appreciate working with family now: we've come a long way and working together brings us love and joy.
